Now may be one of the best times to start a business as entrepreneurialism is skyrocketing. As entrepreneurship grows, so do the myths that stop people from starting their dream businesses.

There are too many myths about owning a business to cover in one post, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn about some of the top myths that put a halt to your plans. Here’s what you should know:

Myth #1: You have to have a business degree to run a business

Truth: Many businesses start from people who know nothing and learn as they go. You, just like everyone else, will likely make a few mistakes along the way. It’s important to find good advisors, listen to their guidance and keep trying.

Myth #2: There are better times to start a business than others

Truth: The best time for you to start may be right now. However, it stands to reason that if your business focuses on seasonal plans and goods, then it may be best to start just before you enter that season.

Myth #3: You’ll be working all day and night forever

Truth: Early on, you may have to work a lot to get your business going. But with the right contracts, employees, partnerships and business relationships, you may find yourself being able to take more time off for yourself.

Myth #4: You have to know all business laws

Truth: There may be too many laws for one person to know alone. While you may need to know laws when working in a partnership or hiring employees, you don’t have to know them all alone. You may need to reach out for legal help when exploring your entrepreneurial dreams.
